FORMAT

Portfolio should be in PDF format. No printed porfolios will be accepted. Applicants should upload their portfolios to Folio21 through ArchWay

CONTENTS

Portfolios should include:

Title page – application

No less than 20 and no more than 30 pages.

Work in the portfolio must include examples that demonstrate evidence of competency in each of the following studios:

  • Communication Graphics – Black and white media
  • Quick sketching, controlled line drawing, value studies, orthographic projection drawing, shade and shadow construction with isometric drawing, one and two point perspective drawing, projected perspective, figure drawing, landscape, lettering skill
  • Pencil, grey markers, pen and ink
  • Color Communication – Color media
  • Colored pencil, markers, mixed media
  • Design Fundamentals 2D & 3D
  • Understanding of plans, sections, and elevations
  • Graphic skills, composition, organization
  • Model building skills
  • Other work produced in the College of Architecture

REQUIREMENTS:

All images should be large enough to understand in detail and all labeling and text should be easily read. There should be enough images for each project to completely convey the design intent and the objectives of the project. Each project should provide a summary of the projects requirements and objectives as well as a brief description of the design solution.

Additional guidelines:

  • no more than two images on a page
  • font no smaller than 10 pts
  • one font style in the portfolio
  • consistently use landscape or portrait
  • no background
  • images should be 150DPI maximum at 8.5"x11"
  • you may combine your images into a single Publisher, PowerPoint, Acrobat PDF, or a similar document, but you must submit your work as a PDF document. All computers in the college computer lab have Adobe Acrobat, and will allow you to save these formats as PDF
  • Be certain your name is not included in your portfolio or within images
