The Sabine Pass Lighthouse is located on the Louisiana side of the Sabine River which defines the Texas / Louisiana border. The lighthouse is near the mouth of the river a short distance from the city of Sabine Pass. Decommissioned in 1952 the lighthouse became a Nationally Registered Landmark (#81000290) in 1981.
