Catalog Description

5365. Architecture Research Methods (3:3:0). Comprehensive survey of qualitative and quantitative research methods and their method-specific hypothesis formulation, data acquisition, verification, and analysis. Writing intensive.

Course Objectives

To increase the student's understanding of the role of research in architecture.
To increase the student's abilities to interpret and evaluate research.
To increase the student's abilities to conduct architecture research.
To increase the student's abilities to present research results. 
To increase the student's understanding of data, information, and knowledge.

Course Requirements

Students are expected to fully participate in each class. Therefore, the assigned readings must be completed before the start of class. Assignments must be completed (and electronic assignments must be loaded on the server) before the start of class on Fridays.

The final grade will consist of the following components:
Participation    20%
Assignments    60%
Quizzes            20%
