Bachelor of Science in Architecture

The B.S. Architecture is the pre-professional degree that gives students knowledge and career opportunities in architecture, the building industry, and related fields.

Master of Architecture

The Master of Architecture is a professional degree and is accredited by National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). The program consists of 131 credit hours of undergraduate courses and 42 hours of graduate courses.

Master of Science in Architecture

The Master of Science in Architecture degree is a research-based academic degree for students interested in a focused area of study. This degree does not prepare you for architecture licensure. The Master of Science in Architecture is for students with an accredited professional B.Arch or M.Arch. degree, or with an approved Bachelors degree in another discipline (such as Interior Design, Engineering, etc.).

Certificate Overview

The primary purpose for offering graduate certificates is to meet the specialized education needs of professionals. A certificate of specialization can be obtained by taking the 15 hours of core courses approved for that specialization. Upon completion of the certificate course work, students will receive a “certificate of specialization” and notification on their transcript of program completion.

38 credit-hour Master of Science Degree / Certificate in Community Design and Development

The College of Architecture's Master of Science in Architecture with certificate of specialization in Community Development (CD) is a multidisciplinary program that focuses on the complex realm connecting architecture, urban design, and urban planning at different scales and establishes linkages between theory and practice.

15 credit-hour Certificate in Community Design and Development

Any student enrolled at TTU in any school or college can earn a certificate, as a Bachelor, Master, or PhD degree candidate under the same guidelines above having been accepted into the certificate program offered by the College of Architecture. The certificate is awarded only after completion of a first degree.

Certificate: Historic Preservation

The College of Architecture's Master of Science in Architecture with a certificate of specialization in Historic Preservation (HP) is an interdisciplinary program that focuses on the documentation and preservation of historic architecture.

Certificate: Visualization

The College of Architecture's Master of Science in Architecture with certificate of specialization in Visualization (VIZ) is an interdisciplinary program that focuses on the digital visualization of art, design, engineering, and science.

Dual Degrees

The dual degrees with the Master of Architecture are very specific programs and it is necessary for students to make a decision regarding entry into one of these programs as early as possible.

Land-Use Planning, Management, and Design

The interdisciplinary Ph.D. degree program in Land-Use Planning, Management, and Design accepts students from diverse educational backgrounds. Students with interests in architecture, community planning and design, historic preservation, environmental/natural-resource planning and management, public-policy administration, and many other aspects of land use may find the program suitable to their needs.
