The following policy statements are hereby set forth as guidelines for accepting student computers to be worked on by the College of Architecture IT staff.

The College of Architecture will:

  • Configure student computers to connect to the wireless network
  • Install printer drivers from our print server
  • Provide instructions on how to install site-licensed software provided by the university
  • Place virus removal tools on a CD provided by the student
  • Clear an incident report from the NOC on behalf of the student

The College of Architecture will not:

  • Upgrade or install an operating system, including Windows inside of Parallels
  • Repair or re-install an operating system, including Windows inside of Parallels
  • Install site-licensed software, or student provided software, including Boot Camp and Parallels
  • Install the virus protection software provided by the university
  • Clean virus-infected computers
  • Recover deleted data from hard drives
  • Troubleshoot or repair hardware or software problems

The maintenance and repair of a student's computer is the sole responsibility of the student.
