Maya Independent Study............................................Week3

Clouds

Explored creating clouds using 3 different methods

-using 3d fluid containers (density grid turned off)

-using 2d fluid containers (density grid turned off)

-painting in 3d fluid containers (density grid set to dynamic)

Using 3d fluid containers

Cloud animated by changing the texture frequency over time:

The clouds were created using two 3d fluid containers -one for the cloud fill color (sky fog color) and the other for the clouds. The clouds were created using internal fluidtexturing without the use of any dynamic grids. The following show the effects with different texture types.

Billow

Perlin

Space Time

Volume Wave

Wispy

Using 2d fluid containers:

Clouds created with one 3d container for the fog and one 2d container for the clouds with density grid turned on to gradient.

Painting in 3d fluid containers:

These were simulated by painting color and density within a 3d fluid container and another 3d container added for the background fog.
