Yohannes:

These are a couple I have on my reading list.  I have copied the other members of the Committee to ask if they have recommendations as well.

Also, Bob Payn , please add these to the book page on the website publications list.

1. Based on a recommendation from a trusted friend and industry expert:  BIG BIM little bim - The practical approach to Building Information Modeling - Integrated practice done the right way! (Paperback)
by Finith Jernigan (Author),

2. Not quite out yet, we know the authors and this should be very good:  BIM Handbook: A Guide to Building Information Modeling for Owners, Managers, Designers, Engineers and Contractors by Chuck Eastman, Paul Teicholz, Rafael Sacks, and Kathleen Liston (Hardcover - Mar 3, 2008)

Thanks for the question.

Yohannes,

There are not a lot of books specifically on the full scope of BIM yet.  I suppose Refabricating Architecture by Kieran & Timberlake is one worth reading.  Chuck Eastman out of Georgia Tech is working on one which will be out soon.  There is another BIG BIM little bim by Finith Jorgensen that should just about be out.  I am also working on one with Michael Tardif, but it won’t be out till mid next year.  We will list them on our web sites as soon as they are available.  I am assuming you have reviewed the draft version of the BIM standard as that will be the basis of most works in the future.  It is undergoing a bit of a re-write based on some additional work we did with the international community.  That should be done by the end of October, early November.

Thank you.
