Schematic Design

As the schematic design has no basic difference in whatever style it is done because the schematic design phase establishes the general scope, conceptual design, and relationships among components of the building. The primary objective is to arrive at a clearly defined, feasible concept while exploring the most promising alternative design solutions. The architect prepares a series of rough plans, known as schematics, which show the general arrangement of rooms and of the building. Models and/or illustrations are prepared to help visualize the project as necessary. The architect may use any media (free hand sketching, Adobe Photoshop, Sketch up, 3Ds Max, AutoCAD, etc) to produce the schematics.
