Install Revit on MacOS (Intel Macs)

  1. Before you start the process make sure you have at least 120GB free storage on your computer. You can check this on a MAC by clicking on the Apple Icon in the top left hand corner. Click on "About this MAC", and finally click on the Storage Tab.
  2. Go to the website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

    Click on the 64 bit version. Download the ISO file and leave it in the download folder for now. Go on to next step.

  3. If you are a student that works on campus you will have to call ITHC 806.742.4357 and first get approval from the licensing deparment before you can get the serial number for Windows 10.
  4. Go to the website: https://onthehub.com/search

    Fill out the information below. Be sure to select from the drop down menu, typing in the answers will not work.

    Search for Windows 10 and add it to your cart.

    You can double check if you are currently eligible by clicking on the "Are you eligible" tab.

  5. On the desktop for Mac type in bootcamp in the search bar “magnify glass icon” or in Spotlight.
  6. Make sure "Windows" has at least 120gb of space.

  7. Begin installing Windows 10.
  8. When you Sign into Windows the first time, a Bootcamp window will be opened to install drivers. After that is completed move on to next step installing Revit.
  9. Go to website https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/featured to download Revit. Click on Revit and sign in with your credentials.

  10. Select the Revit year, 64 bit, and language. Next click the drop down arrow on right side of the blue install now button and select “DOWNLOAD NOW”. Download the file first and then install it.

  11. After you restart your computer hold down the option key until the 2 options come up for Windows or Mac.
