MISSION STATEMENT

EDRAMOVE knowledge network creates a venue where researchers from various disciplines and designers of different environments can propose, debate, and evaluate theories of human movement through designed environments, and methods to measure such movement. Operating from an architectural point of view, this network puts emphasis on the environmental factors that might be important to human movement as it refers to navigation, distribution, wayfinding or browsing.

DESCRIPTION:

The issue of human movement is of interest to researchers from various disciplines and designers of various environments. The term 'movement' refers to that of human walkers as they navigate, distribute, wayfind, or browse. EDRAMOVE offers these various interests a forum for sharing ideas under the broad category "Movement in Designed Environments."

EDRAMOVE is a venue for presenting theories and methods involving human movement through designed environments such as hospitals, museums, parks, retail spaces, campus pathways, etc. Participants represent research and professional perspectives from Geography, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Wayfinding, Space Syntax, Computer Science, Facilities Management, and the various Design disciplines. Operating from an architectural point of view, this network puts emphasis on the environmental factors that might be important in human movement. EDRAMOVE encourages members to present their perspectives at the EDRA annual conference to explore avenues of discussion, interaction and possible collaboration.
